Infant Born With Two Teeth, Doctors Surgically Removed the Teeth

In an extraordinary event at Sadar Hospital in Parsudih, Jamshedpur, a child was born with a rare occurrence. As soon as the baby cried after birth, the eyes of nurses and doctors widened in amazement. The situation escalated to the point where surgery was deemed necessary. This child has become the talk of the town.

On June 11, Shiv Karwa’s wife, Sunita Devi, a resident of Sarjamda, experienced labor pains and was admitted to Sadar Hospital. During this time, she gave birth, and when the baby cried, those present were astonished. The newborn already had two teeth emerged. This sight left relatives bewildered, prompting many questions in their minds.

Doctors explained to the relatives that while such cases are rare, there’s no need to worry. The teeth will be surgically removed, ensuring no further complications. This assurance brought relief to the family. On Friday, three days after birth, the surgery successfully removed the baby’s teeth. Now, the child is completely healthy.

Dr. Vimalesh Kumar, a dental specialist at Sadar Hospital, told Local 18 that this is the second case in his career. Such cases are rare and seldom seen in many children. However, these teeth are weak and often easy to remove. Some babies may even have more than two teeth.

“Teeth at birth are those teeth that are present from the time of a child’s birth. These teeth often do not fully develop, and their roots are usually weak. It is common to remove or extract such teeth to avoid any issues during the child’s development or breastfeeding. These teeth are rare and seeing them in normal children is highly unusual.”
