Lipstick Gun for Women’s Safety! Alerts Police and Ensures Instant Action

B. Tech students from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, have developed an innovative ‘Lipstick Gun’ to enhance women’s safety.

The innovative device developed by Ishrat Khan and Srishti Srivastava, both B.Tech 2nd year students at Gorakhpur ITM Engineering College, is designed to detect distress in emergency situations and can instantly alert the police and family members by sending an automatic call and location details.

The students stated that they created this safety tool in response to the increasing incidents of violence against women worldwide. The Lipstick Gun will not only alert police and loved ones but also serves as a self-defence tool in times of danger.

A Revolutionary Device for Women’s Safety

The students explained that this Lipstick Gun enables women to immediately inform the police and their family, ensuring quick assistance. By using this device, women can enhance their personal security and protect themselves from violent incidents. They believe this innovative tool could be highly effective in preventing crimes against women.

How the Lipstick Gun Works

The students revealed that this device looks like an ordinary lipstick but can function as a gun when needed. It is equipped with a 5mm barrel loaded with 4mm plastic bullets infused with red chili powder. When fired, these bullets cause severe irritation in the attacker’s eyes, temporarily incapacitating them and allowing the woman to escape.

Additionally, the gun produces a loud firing sound, alerting people nearby and prompting them to help. The Lipstick Gun is made of special carbon fiber, weighs only 50 grams, and is equipped with a voice module, a 3V battery, a metal pipe, a PCB board, a jeans button, and a microphone.

This groundbreaking invention by young engineering students is expected to significantly boost women’s safety and empower them with an effective self-defense tool.
