Doctors Remove 4-Kg Tumor from Woman’s Uterus at Cama Hospital

Doctors at Cama Hospital successfully removed a 4-kilogram tumor from the uterus of a 30-year-old woman from Kalyan, bringing her relief from persistent abdominal pain.

The woman had faced a similar issue a decade ago, when a lump was surgically removed from her abdomen in 2016. After a few years of stability, she again experienced abdominal pain and swelling in March 2025.

Dr. Tushar Palve, Medical Superintendent of Cama Hospital, shared that the woman approached the hospital on April 8 for treatment. Various tests, including a CT scan, revealed a 21×12 cm tumor in her uterus, extending from the right side of the uterus to above the navel.

A laparoscopic surgery was performed on April 21 to remove the tumor. Following the procedure, doctors kept her under observation for a day. Currently, she is recovering well in the general ward and her condition is stable.
