Speaking about the initiative, Nimrat said, “Menstruation is an essential part of a woman’s health. Yet, it remains a taboo topic, and girls, especially in backward areas, often feel embarrassed discussing it. Distributing menstrual products in these areas will be beneficial.” She added, “Efforts should be made to normalize conversations about periods so that no girl feels ashamed or is forced to drop out of school because of it.”

Nimrat Kaur Joins Period Hygiene Campaign

Nimrat Kaur has partnered with Hemkunt Foundation’s ‘Dhabba Nahi’ campaign, a menstrual hygiene initiative focused on reaching underprivileged communities across India. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign has so far distributed menstrual care kits across 21 states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Rajasthan.

The initiative, aimed at women and girls living in slums and deprived areas, seeks to bridge the gap in access to basic menstrual hygiene products while challenging social taboos and misconceptions associated with menstruation.
