17 Newborn Girls Named ‘Sindoor’ in Kushinagar to Honour Indian Army’s Operation

In a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Army’s recent action against Pakistan—Operation Sindoor—families in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district have named 17 newborn girls ‘Sindoor’.

Dr. R.K. Shahi, Principal of Kushinagar Medical College, stated on Monday that 17 girls were born at the facility between May 10 and 11, and all of them were named Sindoor by their families as a mark of respect for the Army’s decisive response.

Archana Shahi, a resident of Kushinagar, said, “Many women lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack. Following that, the Indian Army carried out Operation Sindoor successfully. ‘Sindoor’ is no longer just a word, it’s an emotion. That’s why we named our daughter Sindoor.”

In the Padrauna area of the district, Kajal, daughter-in-law of Madan Gupta, also named her newborn girl ‘Sindoor’. Madan said, “Ever since the Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan, my daughter-in-law wished to name her child Sindoor. We chose this name not only to remember the operation but to celebrate this day with pride.”

Similarly, in Bhathahi Babu village, a woman named her daughter Sindoor to instill courage and valor in her from a young age.

This collective gesture reflects the deep emotional impact of the operation and highlights the patriotic sentiments of the people in the region.
