Central Railway RPF decided to help Pregnant Women Under ‘Operation Matrishakti’

Central Railway RPF under ‘Operation Matrishakti’ has decided to provide all possible assistance during delivery to pregnant women in emergency situations. This includes arrangement of medical facilities en route at stations, taking the woman to the nearest hospital and informing their relatives, etc.

Recently the RPF team helped a woman give birth at Chalisgaon station. Deputy Station Manager Chalisgaon received information about a woman suffering from labor pain in Igatpuri-Bhusaval MEMU. Acting swiftly, the RPF team, with the help of a fellow passenger, assisted the woman off the train.

A doctor traveling in the train also arrived to help and the woman successfully delivered a baby girl at the station. The mother and child were taken to the Civil Hospital for further medical care. It is said that both mother and child are healthy.

From January to November 2024, the CR RPF team has handled 15 such emergency childbirth situations in the trains, showcasing their readiness and efficiency. These include eight on the Bhusaval division, three on the Mumbai division, three on the Pune division, and one on the Nagpur division.

RPF’s commitment to Passenger Safety

Operation Matrishakti underscores the RPF’s unwavering commitment to public service. The Central Railway RPF is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of passengers and railway assets, maintaining high standards of vigilance, professionalism, and care.
