Sunny Leone Opens Up on Adoption, IVF, and Surrogacy on Soha Ali Khan’s Podcast ‘All About Her’

This conversation can open doors for many people to think, “I have tried naturally for a while. Maybe I can start thinking about options.”

Mumbai: In a heartfelt conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her new podcast All About Her, actor Sunny Leone discussed embracing parenthood through adoption, in vitro fertilisation (IVF), and surrogacy, shedding light on the stigma surrounding alternative paths to having children.

Khan described the episode as one that stayed with her long after recording. Leone, who adopted her daughter Nisha Kaur Weber in 2017 and welcomed twins Asher and Noah via IVF and surrogacy in 2018, spoke candidly about societal pressures on women to become pregnant naturally.

IVF, Surrogacy, and Adoption: Still a Taboo

“The episode is centred on IVF, surrogacy, and adoption. Women put so much pressure on themselves to become pregnant because they want to have children. There are options, but we don’t talk about or celebrate those options. There is a taboo when it comes to IVF, surrogacy, and adoption,” Khan explained.

With the episode set to stream in the coming weeks, Khan hopes Leone’s empowering perspective will encourage couples to embrace different paths to parenthood. “It was wonderful to have someone talk about the other ways to embrace parenthood in such a positive and empowering way. This conversation can open doors for many people to think, ‘I have tried naturally for a while. Maybe I can start thinking about options.'” she said.

Khan concluded with a thought-provoking insight: “At the end of the day, do you want to be a parent? Or do you want to be pregnant? They are two very different experiences.”

The episode promises to spark conversations around the choices available to prospective parents, celebrating all forms of parenthood.
