In an effort to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, the Public Health Department has mandated that all delivery rooms in government and municipal hospitals across the state must now include seven essential tray. The Family Welfare Department has issued detailed guidelines outlining the contents and purpose of each tray.
The decision aims to address complications such as APH (Antepartum Hemorrhage), PPH (Postpartum Hemorrhage), retained placenta, preterm delivery, pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, preoperative sepsis, neonatal respiratory distress, and neonatal sepsis. These conditions are among the leading causes of maternal and child deaths. By ensuring proper preparedness and timely referral services, the department hopes to significantly reduce these risks.
