No Child Born in This Country for 96 Years – Here’s Why

There is a country in the world where no child has been born for the last 96 years. Surprisingly, this country doesn’t even have a hospital! Recognized as the smallest country in the world, this nation is home to all religious leaders of the Roman Catholic Church. The name of this country is Vatican City. Established on February 11, 1929, no child has been born here since its formation. But have you ever wondered why?

Vatican City serves as the headquarters of the Catholic Church, where the Pope, priests, and prominent religious leaders from across the globe reside. One of the key reasons for the absence of births is that the country has no hospitals or maternity facilities. Over the years, several requests were made to build a hospital, but they were denied each time. If anyone falls seriously ill or a woman becomes pregnant, they are sent to hospitals in Rome for treatment.

Located at the heart of Rome, Vatican City is believed to have not built a hospital due to its small size and the high-quality medical services available nearby. The country covers an area of just 118 acres, making it the smallest country in the world. Therefore, residents rely on Roman hospitals and clinics for medical care.

Another reason behind the lack of childbirth is the population of Vatican City, which consists of only 800-900 residents, most of whom are senior clergy members associated with the Roman Catholic Church. Interestingly, despite its religious significance, the country is reported to have a higher crime rate compared to many other nations due to petty personal crimes.
