Patralekhaa Opens Up on Pregnancy, Says It Was Way Easier Than Freezing Eggs

Patralekhaa also shared that she initially missed the signs of pregnancy, as her home test showed a negative result.

Mumbai: Actor Patralekhaa, who is expecting her first child with husband Rajkummar Rao, has spoken candidly about her pregnancy journey and the challenges she faced during her egg-freezing process three years ago. The couple announced their pregnancy in July.

In a conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube channel, Patralekhaa revealed that conceiving naturally turned out to be far easier than freezing her eggs.

I had frozen my eggs about three years back and now that I’m pregnant, I feel pregnancy was way easier than freezing the eggs. My doctor didn’t tell me how difficult it was going to be,” she said.

She described the procedure as both physically taxing and emotionally draining, adding: The blues I experienced after the process were very tough. Between the two, I’d always say it’s easier to just get pregnant.”

Patralekhaa also shared that she initially missed the signs of pregnancy, as her home test showed a negative result. It was only after consulting her gynaecologist that she confirmed the news. The couple chose to keep the pregnancy private during the first trimester, following common practice.

Their personal milestone also coincided with professional obligations. We had signed a travel show in December-January, and by March we found out I was pregnant. In April, we had to go for it and couldn’t even tell them. It was scary, but we had to honour the commitment,” she recalled.
