Deepika Padukone Shares Her Post-Pregnancy Fitness Journey

Bollywood’s one of the most talented actress, Deepika Padukone, is currently away from the big screen and enjoying her journey into motherhood. In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Deepika opened up about her efforts to regain her pre-pregnancy physique.

She revealed that post delivery her fitness routine has included swimming, Pilates, and functional training. At present, she is focusing on cardio and weight training to rebuild her strength and stamina. She also shared, that she drinks three litres of water a day.

During the conversation, Deepika also spoke about the importance of mental health, especially for new mothers. She acknowledged the mental health challenges that often come after childbirth. “I feel very fortunate to have a support system that steps in whenever I need help,” she said.

Talking about her daughter, Deepika shared that she wants Dua to have a childhood similar to hers.

She said, “We didn’t have the burden of our parents’ expectations and dreams. I don’t remember my father ever saying that he was a professional badminton player or a celebrity.”

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter, Dua, in September 2024. Months later, Deepika candidly shared her experience of stepping into motherhood, describing it as both beautiful and challenging. She revealed that her pregnancy was not easy, particularly during the third trimester, which came with intense physical discomfort and emotional ups and downs.
